Adopt-A-Highway – April 30th, 2011

The spring pick-up will be on Saturday, April 30th. The group will meet up at 9am at the SW corner of I435/Gregory exit. Lunch at Waldo Pizza and Drinks and will be provided. Please contact Mike Winckler michael.winckler@modot.mo.gov to RSVP.

Half Pint Library Book Drive

Where: Charlie Hoopers Brookside Bar
Time: 5:30 pm
Details: FREE APPETIZERS and FREE BEER!

When you Bring 3 gently used or new children/teen books.

ASCE YMG will give a matching donation.

All donations will go to 13th Annual Half Price Books – Half Pint Library Book Drive

The Half Pint Library has been giving books to children in need for 13 years.

Half Price Books is going to match all donates this year!

After the drive is over Non-for-profit organizations will be able to pick up books to distribute to children in need.

Nearly 90% of low income households do not have books for kids.

Future Cities 2011 – Calling all Judges!!

Title: Future Cities 2011 – Calling all Judges!!
Location: Manhattan, Kansas
Description: The upcoming Future Cities 2011 Competition is coming up quickly on Saturday, January 15, 2011, and we need volunteers for judges. This year’s competition is held in Manhattan, Kansas on the K-State campus. You will have the opportunity to witness the creativity of 7th and 8th graders have utilized to design their Future City and it is pretty impressive.

BRWA Volunteers Needed!

Blue River Watershed Association is always looking for volunteers to help area school kids experience nature with water quality testing. ASCE Younger Members would like to help out by getting a group to come out and volunteer on May 7th from 8:30 – 10:15 and/or 10:15-12:15 at Westridge Middle School, 103rd St. and Marty in Overland Park.
