Harvesters Packing Day

On a windy Saturday afternoon mid-March, over 18 younger members headed to Harvester’s Community Network to volunteer their time to help those in need. Once again, Kansas City ASCE continues to partner with this organization to give back to our community. Harvesters provides food for 26 counties in the northern Missouri and Kansas regions.

This time around the KC YMG was assigned to sort through five different types of breads in the warehouse. We had some of our members boxing up cardboard boxes, with others sorting through the bread items, labelling them and finally moving them into pallets.

After we had volunteered for about two hours, those in attendance headed to Tomfooleries in the Plaza to hang out, and get some food and drinks!

Thank you to our committee chairs Andrew Robertson and Lee Ryherd for putting this together!

YMG Reaches Out to Mizzou

Four of us Younger Members drove down to Columbia, MO to give a presentation to the ASCE student chapter at Mizzou.  We each talked about what we do at our respective companies, and then we talked about what we do with the YMG.  We also explained the benefits of ASCE membership after graduating from college. They were great hosts, and we hope to return to campus again soon.

BHC Rhodes Hosts the YMG Monthly Meeting

BHC Rhodes hosted the Younger Members Group at their office located at the corner of College Boulevard and Metcalf Avenue. We had over 45 young professionals in attendance, with several new members ready to learn more about Kansas City ASCE. We thank BHC Rhodes for allowing us to watch some March Madness in their TVs, play ping pong and shuffle board and providing raffle giveaways!

The KC ASCE YMG appreciates the opportunity to participate with BHC Rhodes and other engineering firms which continuously support our group! We look forward to partner up with another engineering firm in the Fall!
